Lying within enchanting coastal forest.1400 feet above sea
Level is the National Reserve of Shimba Hills.

Comprising of open  grasslands interspersed with coastal rain forest this 195 square kilometer game reserve is the last remaining habitat of the Sable Antelope in East Africa. The reserve is also well known for the Roan Antelope, Buffalo, Elephant, Bushbuck,Warthog and leopard as well as the Colobus Monkeys which are occasionally seen around the Reserve and the lodge.

SHIMBA LODGE can accommodate 65 people with all the rooms overlooking the waterhole from balcony vantage points. As well as dining in theopen air you are able to walk along the 120m jungle walkway into the tropical rainforest. Once you reach the bar at the end you are able to view the wildlife in comfort.The Bushbabys will walk around you waiting for food and the jungle noise from the cicadas and frogs will create that jungle atmosphere.

The only accommodation available is at SHIMBA HILLS RAINFOREST LODGE. A spectacular, award winning, wooden tree lodge overlooking a watering hole in the middle of a tropical rainforest.

56 kilometers from Mombasa island and 45 kilometers from Diani Beach, SHIMBA HILLS is not only quick but also relatively easy to reach.
